Garment Industry Management Institute is the leading consulting and training institution in Sri Lanka for the apparel industry. Established in 1990 and recognized by the Sri Lanka Government authority on vocational training, the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC), the Garment Industry Management Institute (GIMI) has successfully trained over 15,000 students and over 20,000 Apparel Managerial, Executive and Supervisory personnel since its inception.
GIMI programmes are the most sought-after qualifications in Sri Lanka for all technical and managerial positions in the Apparel industry. GIMI has been retained by many new enterprises in the training of all levels of technical staff at the pre-operational stage and has executed several ‘train-the-trainer’ assignments in developing the sewing skills of new machine operators.
